WASHINGTON D.C. – In honor of the U.S. military, Amtrak is offering a new sale for travel to the nation’s capital for the upcoming “Welcome Home!” events to honor Vietnam veterans and their families. The ceremonies are taking place May 11 – 13 on the National Mall to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
Active-duty U.S. military personnel, their dependents and veterans can buy one adult fare and get 50 percent off a companion fare during the promotion. Tickets are available for purchase now through May 15. Travel dates are May 9 through May 15, 2023 for travel on the Northeast Regional, Acela and the Vermonter to and from Washington, D.C., to Boston/Springfield, Mass., and cities in between.
