Amtrak Continues Infrastructure Renewal Program at New York Penn Station in Early 2020

NEW YORK – Amtrak is continuing its Infrastructure Renewal Program at New York Penn Station throughout Winter 2020 as part of its ongoing maintenance program to improve the Station’s infrastructure operations performance and reliability. Unlike previous years, this round of renewal work will not require any reductions or modifications in service for Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT trains or impact customers. Long Island Rail Road trains will have minimal schedule modifications, however, as a result of this work.

PORTLAND, MAINE – In response to Governor Mills Executive Order for State Agencies to lead by example in reducing carbon emissions, the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) announced a 15% discount on a for all Maine State Employees who use the Amtrak Downeaster for travel within or outside the State of Maine.

New Amtrak Acela Trains Stimulate Nationwide Economy

HARVEY, Ill. – The Amtrak partnership with Alstom to produce the next generation of Acela trains to move customers at higher speeds and more comfort between Boston and Washington is also boosting businesses nationwide. Today, Amtrak and Alstom thanked workers at LB Steel in Illinois for building wheel assemblies (known as “bogies” or “trucks”) and other components.
