WASHINGTON – Amtrak released its FY2019 Sustainability Report that showcases company performance against year-over-year sustainability goals and highlights sustainability projects across Amtrak’s regions and operations. In FY19, Amtrak achieved all energy, fuel, recycling and emissions targets with the support of more than 18,000 employees.

SEATTLE – Nov. 14, 2019 – In anticipation of the busiest travel week of the year, Amtrak is encouraging holiday travelers on the Amtrak Cascades route, which travels between Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and Eugene to make ticket reservations early. Last year, the Cascades saw a 60% increase in ridership the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday following. Similar passenger counts are anticipated this year. Tickets sell out quickly, so customers are encouraged to plan ahead and book early.
OAKLAND, Calif. – Nov. 6, 2019 – In anticipation of the busiest travel week of the year, Amtrak, the San Joaquins Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA) and the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) are prepared to accommodate the surge of holiday travelers with extra equipment and additional capacity on the Capitol Corridor and San Joaquins service. Tickets sell out quickly, so customers are encouraged to plan ahead and book early. Last year, the Capitol Corridor and San Joaquins saw a 65% increase in ridership the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and a 68% increase the Sunday following Thanksgiving.
