San Joaquins train 718 will now operate full corridor to Bakersfield on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays. Additionally, San Joaquins train 1701 will operate on a later, full corridor schedule from Bakersfield providing an afternoon arrival into Sacramento.

WASHINGTON – Amtrak is evoking the family festive, nostalgic, and celebratory holiday feelings that comes from holiday season train travel by debuting its social media-based and photo-friendly #AmtrakHolidayContest. OAKLAND, Calif. – In anticipation of the busiest travel week of the year, Amtrak and the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) are preparing to accommodate the surge of holiday travelers with extra capacity on the Capitol Corridor train, which travels between Auburn/Sacramento and San Jose, including service to Berkeley, Oakland, and downtown San Francisco. The Capitol Corridor also serves a number of universities and as a result, will be adding extra bus trips before and after Thanksgiving for students traveling to and from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Chico State, and Humboldt State. Tickets sell out quickly, so customers are encouraged to plan ahead and book early, especially if they have a bus connection as part of their travel.
