Across the country, you can feel the excitement rising as we approach America’s 250th anniversary on July 4th. Amtrak is proud of the role that we’ve played in helping Americans get where they need to go for 55 years.
We’re tightly woven into the fabric of this great nation, from coast to coast and from large cities to small towns. Railroads have been part of the United States’ ongoing story for nearly two centuries, facilitating growth and development while moving people and goods.
Amtrak is proud to serve as an official partner of the America250 Commission, supporting efforts to commemorate the country’s past while highlighting how transportation moves us forward.
As part of the celebrations, we unveiled our Freedom250 Acela train in May. The red, white and blue train wrap features icons, like the Statue of Liberty, that reflect themes of freedom, mobility and opportunity. Nationwide, customers have also noticed our modern ALC-42 and ACS-64 locomotives sporting the America250, Freedom250 and USDOT250 logos.
During this anniversary year, and in those to come, Amtrak is focused on running a great railroad that’s safe, reliable and provides customers with a memorable experience; building for the future by revitalizing and replacing infrastructure, acquiring modern trains and transforming technology; and delivering business results that include increasing ridership and revenue.
