Amtrak Vice President, State Supported Services Ray Lang recently joined WITF’s The Spark to discuss progress made on Amtrak’s Harrisburg Line Track Renewal Project, which began earlier this year and is set to conclude in November.
Thanks to an innovative infrastructure maintenance approach in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Amtrak is investing $122 million to improve Harrisburg Line tracks between Lancaster and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This work will improve ride quality and comfort, increase service reliability and complete necessary work required to keep the tracks in a state of good repair.
During the episode, Lang also highlighted Amtrak’s historic infrastructure investments now underway around the country, record ridership trends and other company updates.
The episode is available on The Spark website, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
