Amtrak Appoints Robert Grasty as Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

WASHINGTON — Amtrak announced today Robert Grasty has been named Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), reporting to Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner effective Monday, June 26. Grasty succeeds Qiana Spain, who will stay with the company until June 30.

“Robert has built a track record of leading organizations through major change to achieve business results, and we are delighted to have him in this role,” said Gardner. “Amtrak is undergoing a period of major transformation, and Robert will lead our talent and recruitment goals by continuing to build an integrated HR team and a strong culture that supports our people and our business.”

Previously, Grasty served as Amtrak Senior Vice President of Human Resources. He has more than 25 years of business experience in designing and executing human resources strategies in both domestic and international organizations spanning the transportation, health care, energy and financial services sectors. He spent several years prior to joining Amtrak serving in CHRO and operations and executive leadership roles for Fortune 100 and 500 companies. For the last three years, Grasty has served as a board member for the American Red Cross South Florida Chapter.
