All Aboard for Autumn Colors Express

Special excursion train; Tickets now on sale

WASHINGTON – Rail Excursion Management LLC., in cooperation with Amtrak, will operate the Autumn Colors Express on Oct. 25, 26, and 27 from Huntington to Hinton, West Virginia. Customers will travel through the New River Gorge, during the peak of fall foliage season.

The excursion will consist of at least 18 privately-owned vintage railroad cars assembled for this special trip, powered by Amtrak locomotives. Customers will travel on the route normally traversed by the Amtrak Cardinal train between Huntington and Charleston, Kanawha Falls, Hawk’s Nest Dam, Thurmond, and Hinton. The Autumn Colors Express train will lay over in Hinton for approximately three hours while guests visit the Hinton Railroad Days Festival.

Meals are included in the price of a ticket. The train ride will feature onboard entertainment and historic narration. Amtrak is pleased to have a role in assisting Rail Excursion Management LLC in keeping this annual West Virginia tradition alive.

Visit the Autumn Colors Express website for more information about the excursion or to purchase tickets.
