By | Company News and Statements, News November 13, 2018

Amtrak welcomes Amazon HQ2 to the northeast. With the selection of locations in New York City and Northern Virginia, Amtrak stands ready to provide Amazon employees and all customers with an unparalleled travel experience.

Amtrak has established plans underway to refresh trains, enhance Wi-Fi connectivity, upgrade facilities and improve the onboard experience. Also, Amtrak is investing in the future of rail by redefining the customer experience on the Northeast Corridor, both in station and on board.

By 2021, we’ll be introducing new high-speed trainsets along the Northeast Corridor—the next generation of Acela® Express. This new service will provide world-class accommodations and amenities, along with a smoother and even more comfortable ride.

We’re also upgrading our infrastructure with significant station expansion and modernization efforts in New York and Washington, D.C., and improved track capacity and ride quality along the Northeast Corridor. All of this is being done to make Amtrak the smarter way to travel.

The value of passenger rail to customers and communities is growing, and we look forward to Amazon joining us for the journey.
