Last week, we announced that Amtrak’s NextGen Acela – America’s high-speed train – will debut on Thursday, Aug. 28, for travel between Washington, D.C., New York City, and Boston.
Today, we are sharing how you can book your ticket and experience these all-new, premium trains.
The new trains are marked with a unique ‘NextGen tag’ on Amtrak.com and in the Amtrak app, as seen in these screenshots, making them easy to identify when booking.*
You can also look for the following train numbers, which are scheduled to be NextGen Acela:
-
- Weekdays: Trains 2153, 2154, 2170, and 2173
- Saturdays: Trains 2250 and 2251
- Sundays: Trains 2248, 2258, 2259, and 2271
Amtrak offers a simple and flexible approach to booking, seat selection, and itinerary management, through the Amtrak mobile app, Amtrak website, and at station kiosks.
The all-new, premium NextGen Acela offers an elevated experience, with features and amenities that today’s travelers expect, plus everything needed to be productive along the way: free, high-speed 5G-enabled Wi-Fi, individual power outlets, and reading lights.
We look forward to seeing you onboard!
*From time to time, Amtrak might need to substitute trains, including NextGen Acela trains, for another equipment type and such changes are permitted under the Terms and Conditions [link] without prior notice.
