Amtrak’s infrastructure renewal work at the Spuyten Duyvil Bridge, a railroad swing bridge that spans the Spuyten Duyvil Creek between Manhattan and the Bronx that provides train access between Upstate New York and New York Penn Station. will update the bridge’s mechanical and electrical equipment, which was corroded by Hurricane Sandy.

On Thursday, June 14, 2018 Amtrak removed the bridge from the Creek so it can begin its rehab work. In order to move the bridge, we are using the Left Coast Lifter, one of the world’s largest floating cranes.
