WASHINGTON – As part of its ongoing recovery following the coronavirus pandemic, Amtrak announced today the restoration of traditional dining service beginning Wednesday, June 23 on the California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited, and Texas Eagle (for service between San Antonio and Los Angeles). Travelers will experience a redesigned menu featuring chef-prepared meals for breakfast, lunch and a three-course dinner. This includes selections for the kids, a new array of appetizers and a complimentary alcoholic drink with dinner and table service offered in the Dining Car with glassware, cutlery and white linen tablecloths. Ceramic dishware is set to debut later this year.

WASHINGTON – Amtrak is initiating the work to deliver by 2035 more frequent, reliable and sustainable intercity passenger rail service to over 160 more communities and 20 million more passengers annually, as outlined in the Amtrak Corridor Vision released today. To be implemented in collaboration with states, local communities, the administration and many other stakeholders, the Corridor Vision builds upon Amtrak’s national network, integrating new and improved corridors to expand the existing system.

ORANGE, Calif.– A new Amtrak Thruway bus route is now offering daily service between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, with intermediate stops in San Bernardino, Victorville, and Barstow. While bus-only trips for this service can be purchased without a train segment, these buses also offer guaranteed connections to Pacific Surfliner Trains 579, 580, 763 768, 777, and 796.

WASHINGTON – Great deals are now available for students looking to get away during the summer, travel home, see friends, or return to campus. Amtrak and Vermont Agency of Transportation to Resume Service Throughout the State Beginning July 19
WASHINGTON – Amtrak and The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) today announced that tickets are now available for purchase on their state-supported train services for travel beginning on Monday, July 19. This includes the Vermonter, which provides daily service between Washington, DC and St. Albans, Vermont, with reserved seating for Business Class customers, and the Ethan Allen Express, which offers daily service between New York City and Rutland, Vermont, with connecting service to Washington, D.C.

PORTLAND, MAINE – The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) announced today that the Amtrak Downeaster will increase service and implement a new schedule on May 3, 2021. This will restore the Downeaster to its pre-COVD service level of five daily round trips between Brunswick and Boston. The Downeaster has been offering four daily round-trips since July 2020.

WASHINGTON – Great deals are now available for summer travel on Amtrak with someone special. WASHINGTON – Amtrak announced today the expansion of its pet program allowing customers to travel with their dogs and cats up to 20 pounds onboard weekday Acela trains for only $26 or 800 Amtrak Guest Rewards points. Previously available for only weekend trips, there will be eight pet spaces for sale per departure (one per customer) and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
