The administration’s FY24 budget proposal includes funding for Amtrak’s annual grants that will help us continue to connect rural America, major urban centers, and the many communities in between. This proposed level of investment will allow Amtrak to operate our current network of trains and maintain our railroad — annual costs not covered by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We thank President Biden and Secretary Buttigieg for their continued support of passenger rail, and we look forward to working with Congress on next steps.
