Amtrak offers a vital transportation resource, providing access to major cities and rural areas coast-to-coast. In addition to connecting families and friends, Amtrak services also promote tourism, business travel and other economic development. In 2015, Amtrak welcomed more than 30.8 million passengers aboard, representing the fifth straight year in which ridership exceeded 30 million.
