Workforce ready to expand in a new era of passenger rail
WASHINGTON – Amtrak has been recognized for workplace excellence, earning a spot on Forbes magazine’s America’s Best Employers 2022 list. Listed under the transportation & logistics category, this is the sixth time America’s Railroad® has received this recognition.

The Forbes recognition comes as Amtrak enters a new era of passenger rail modernization and expansion. The historic bipartisan infrastructure law provides Amtrak a transformational investment to upgrade trains, stations, and infrastructure, and to hire the people to bring rail to millions more Americans beyond the current 500 communities we already serve across 46 states, the District of Columbia and three Canadian Provinces.

America’s Best Employers 2022 were identified in an independent survey taken by approximately 60,000 American employees working for companies with more than 1,000 workers in the United States. In total, 1,000 employers were recognized across 25 different industry sectors. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from respondents who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to friends and family. Their evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
