Amtrak Partners with NYC & Company to Drive Train Travel to New York City from the Northeast Corridor

Multi-phased tourism marketing and advertising campaign highlights the benefits of the Moynihan Train Hall

NEW YORK – Amtrak announced today that it is partnering with NYC & Company, the official destination marketing organization and convention and visitors bureau for the five boroughs of New York City, to promote train travel to New York City via the Moynihan Train Hall. NYC & Company and Amtrak will use programmatic advertising, social media, out of home, radio, influencers, and other digital assets to promote the ease, comfort and convenience of traveling by Amtrak to New York City from the other major cities in the Northeast Corridor. The campaign reinforces Amtrak’s national brand message that its Acela and Northeast Regional service is the easiest way to get to New York – Just an Amtrak Away.

“When the Moynihan Train Hall opened earlier this year, it became the latest iconic New York City tourist attraction and provided a more modern train travel experience for visitors of New York City,” said Amtrak Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Roger Harris. “By partnering with NYC & Company, we are able to promote Amtrak as a safe, reliable, and modern option for Northeast Corridor passengers, whether it’s to visit the city and enjoy the many entertainment and dining options, see friends and family or attend a convention.”

“Our partnership with Amtrak is a perfect way to tell visitors in the Northeast region that ‘It’s Time for New York City,’” said Nancy Mammana, CMO at NYC & Company. “We look forward to continuing to welcome travelers back to the City through our upgraded front door, Moynihan Train Hall, introducing new product and a return to vibrancy across the five boroughs.”

NYC & Company launched the first phase of the “It’s Time for New York City” campaign earlier this year. It is the largest-ever, multi-phased global tourism marketing and advertising campaign to promote all five boroughs. NYC & Company predicts 34.6 million people will visit New York City in 2021.
