NEW YORK – Amtrak engineering forces have completed the 2019 summer infrastructure renewal work at New York Penn Station, allowing for scheduled operations to resume Tuesday, Sept. 3 as planned. The work was also completed safely and within budget by the Amtrak team working on the project. Amtrak will host a call early next week to discuss in-depth details on the project and will be issuing a media advisory shortly with a date, time and dial-in information.
SPRINGFIELD, MA – In celebration of its new state supported service train in conjunction with MassDOT, Amtrak is offering customers 25% off full fares on the Valley Flyer. Valid for sale and travel between Friday, Aug. 30 through Thursday, Oct. 31, customers can save and experience this new service, which debuts today. OAKLAND, Calif. – With students heading back to school, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) is introducing a new multi-ride fare ticket as part of a larger rewards program called Stride On Board. The ticket offers students a 25% discount for six rides taken over a one-year period on the Capitol Corridor train and its dedicated connecting buses.
SPRINGFIELD, MA – Amtrak, in conjunction with MassDOT, is launching a new state supported seven day a week passenger train on Friday, August 30, called the Valley Flyer. The train will travel along the Connecticut River, a region referred to as the Knowledge Corridor, with trains making station stops in Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton and Greenfield. The trains will also connect with Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor at New Haven and serve stations between New Haven and Springfield. WASHINGTON – Amtrak is offering customers who have served in the U.S. armed forces a new way to save on rail travel. A 10% discount for military veterans is now available for customers who have served in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.

Starting Friday, Aug. 16, through Saturday, Aug. 17, customers can kick off Labor Day weekend with half-off tickets for nationwide travel between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30, 2019, with no blackout dates.

WASHINGTON – Amtrak announced its new and improved Share Fares deal, offering up to 45% off Amtrak travel. Inspiring customers to travel together with friends and loved ones, Amtrak now offers discounts for up to six passengers as part of its Share Fares deal. The deal was previously available for four passengers and provided up to a 35% discount.
