April 18, 2017 Plan a Summer Getaway on the Auto Train

Save now with 30 percent off companion fare

WASHINGTON – The Amtrak Auto Train is launching a special offer for customers to skip I-95 and travel non-stop from Virginia to Florida. The offer is valid for a 30 percent off companion rail fare with the purchase of one regular full adult ticket.

Book now through May 21 for 1 through August 31 and travel with your vehicle in the comfort and convenience of the Auto Train. Seating is limited and some restrictions apply. Use promotional code H279 when booking a reservation.

During this period the vehicle fare will be $198, $50 less than the usual summer fare for automobiles of $248.

The Auto Train departs daily from both Lorton, Va. (near Washington, D.C.), and Sanford, Fla. (near Orlando). This unique service allows customers to travel with their personal vehicles including cars, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, and even small boats or jet-skis. It is the only such service in the U.S. and eliminates nearly 900 miles of driving between the Northeast and all points in Florida.

Free Wi-Fi is just one of the many perks of traveling with Amtrak. Experience super-wide seats, expansive leg and headroom, and electrical outlets at every seat. Customers enjoy a delicious dinner and continental breakfast included in the price of the ticket. Purchase an upgrade to Priority Vehicle Offloading to expedite the vehicle offloading process.

The Auto Train is the longest passenger train in the world with two locomotives and 40-plus passenger rail cars and vehicle carriers. To make a reservation, call 877-SKIP-I-95, go online at Amtrak.com or visit a staffed station.
