Beginning Monday, May 1, Amtrak will begin operating a Thruway bus connecting service in Maricopa, Ariz. for passengers traveling on the Sunset Limited/Texas Eagle service wanting to travel to Tempe and Phoenix, Ariz. area.
Amtrak President and CEO Wick Moorman today announced a series of initiatives to strengthen railroad infrastructure and improve operations and preparedness at New York Penn Station, the nation’s busiest rail station and transportation facility.
Take Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner or Coast Starlight to the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Alameda Park in downtown Santa Barbara.
Dunkin’ Donuts and Amtrak today announced that Dunkin’ Donuts Original Blend and Dunkin’ Decaf hot coffee varieties are now available on board Amtrak Acela Express high-speed trains throughout the Northeast Corridor.

Amtrak Hiawatha Service now has another great reason to travel by train on Saturdays between Chicago and Milwaukee: customers can now buy one fare for Saturday travel and get a companion fare half-off. That’s a round-trip for two for $75 on Saturdays.
Amtrak crews have restored service to all tracks at New York Penn Station. Passengers should expect residual delays throughout the morning, with scheduled operations resuming this afternoon. We apologize for the delays as we worked to make these repairs.
The major repair work at New York Penn Station has been completed and Amtrak forces are now currently testing and adjusting the installed components to ensure safe and reliable operation. We expect this work to be completed shortly this morning. During this additional period, Amtrak will prioritize the operations of NJ Transit and LIRR trains but passengers may experience some delays as service is returned to normal.

It’s our job to make sure that commuters and intercity passengers can safely and reliably travel along the Northeast Corridor and we know we let them down with these recent derailments.
