WASHINGTON – Amtrak passengers can book a winter getaway by taking advantage of special savings on select routes for a unique train travel experience across the U.S., while avoiding clogged highways, traffic jams and airport hassles.

The special offer is valid for sale now to Jan. 31 for travel from Feb. 2 to March 31, 2015 on the Silver Star, Silver Meteor, Palmetto, Auto Train, Carolinian, Capitol Limited, Crescent, City of New Orleans, Sunset Limited, Texas Eagle, Southwest Chief, and Coast Starlight.

During the trip, passengers will enjoy super-wide seats, expansive leg and headroom, electrical outlets at every seat and generous baggage allowance. Passengers are also able to get up and walk around, enjoy the scenery and connect with fellow travelers. Seats and times are limited.

To take advantage of these low one-way fares, reservations are required a minimum of seven days in advance before traveling. Tickets are non-refundable and some blackout dates apply. The discounted fare is only valid on coach seats and cannot be used on accommodation upgrades.
