America’s Railroad® supports leadership in the Latino community

WASHINGTON — Amtrak is proud to sponsor the Hispanic Heritage Awards, the prestigious event hosted by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation honoring leadership in the Latino community.

Amtrak will serve as a Medallion sponsor of the foundation’s awards, presenting Major League Baseball icon Bernie Williams with the sports award during a ceremony on Sept. 18 at the Warner Theatre in Washington.

“Our partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation gives us the opportunity to support some of the Foundation’s outstanding programs which are designed to empower the Latino community through education, business and culture,” said Darlene Abubakar, Senior Director of National Advertising for Amtrak.

The Awards serve as a launch of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s year-round awardwinning programs which inspire, identify, prepare, and position Latino leaders in the classroom, community and workforce to meet America’s priorities.
