Track Improvement Project Reaches 2013’s Last Phase for Accelerated Michigan Amtrak Services

The last of three Michigan track improvement AMTRAKINSERT2phases for the 2013 construction season begins between Jackson and Kalamazoo on Oct. 14. While the project will cause some delays and modified weekday schedules, the result will be upgraded tracks and more reliable service as part of the Accelerated Rail Program being carried out by Amtrak for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

Expanded Restroom Facilities Open Ahead of Schedule at Baltimore Penn Station

Amtrak and the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) today announce completion of a $1 million Joint Benefit project to renovate and modernize the restroom facilities at Baltimore Penn Station. The project, which began in July 2013, opens ahead of schedule and features more stalls and new fixtures that meet ADA accessibility requirements.
