Discount available for Piedmont, Carolinian trains

WASHINGTON – NCBYTRAIN and Amtrak are offering a discount for travel to Salisbury, N.C., for customers to attend Cheerwine’s Centennial Celebration on Saturday, May 20. A 15 percent discount off the regular adult fare is valid for travel on the Piedmont and Carolinian.

With this offer up to two children ages 2 to 12 travel at half the regular adult fare when accompanied by an adult making Amtrak a great way for families to travel.

Cheerwine, the iconic, family-owned soft drink, is thanking its fans for “100 years of cheer” by throwing an anniversary celebration in its birthplace and hometown of Salisbury, N.C.  The celebration will take place from noon to 8 p.m. on North Main Street. The Amtrak station is at 215 Depot St., a few blocks from where the centennial celebration will take place.

The Carolinian and Piedmont offer free Wi-Fi® and North Carolina Volunteer Train Hosts assist passengers and provide information about rail passenger service and points of interest within North Carolina.
