Team Selected to Develop Joint Master Plan for Philadelphia 30th Street Station Precinct

Amtrak, Drexel University and Brandywine Realty Trust have selected Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), in association with Parsons Brinckerhoff, OLIN, and HR&A Advisors to develop a comprehensive joint master plan for the area around Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. The New York-based firm will start work immediately, bringing its deep experience in complex urban projects including the nearly complete Denver Union Station Redevelopment – the largest public transit project under construction in the United States – and other high-profile projects across the country and around the world.

Amtrak Exhibit Train to Roll Into Spencer, N.C.

Powered by a specially-painted locomotive celebrating veterans and showcasing the past, present and future of America’s Railroad®, the Amtrak Exhibit Train will be open for free tours during the Streamliners at Spencer (with paid event admission) railroad festival from May 29 to June 1. The event will be at the North Carolina Transportation Museum, 411 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer, N.C.

Modified Amtrak Missouri River Runner Schedule

Track improvement work by Union Pacific Railroad (UP) in Missouri will cause Amtrak to use chartered buses to represent one of the daily Missouri River Runner trains between Kansas City and Jefferson City on a series of dates from May 16 through June 21.
